Transport from the airport to the city
The international airport in Lima is called Jorge Chávez. The transport service from the airport to the city and vice versa, is through taxis or public transport. The taxi service in the area of international flights is offered by companies that park their cars within a limited area, in front of the exit doors of the national and international terminals.

Eating
Lima is one of the best cities in the world when it comes to food and the range of restaurants is wide. San Isidro and Miraflores are beautiful areas with various options. There are several restaurants on the Avenida Conquistadores in San Isidro, as for example El Segundo Muelle, Asia de Cuba, Punta Sal and others. On the Avenida La Mar you’ll find two of the most famous fish restaurants: La Mar and Pescados Capitales. In Miraflores is Larcomar, where you’ll find several restaurants, cafés and handicrafts shops, all with a nice sea view. Barranco is another district with much tradition and history, with beautiful streets and squares in colonial style. Barranco is the place for nightlife.
Money
The currency in Peru is Nuevo Sol. One US dollar is more or less equivalent to 3.44 Nuevos Soles. You can also pay with credit card in most hotels, restaurants and shops.
Climate
In January it is summer in Lima and the temperature is about 20 – 25 degrees Celsius. Lima is a humid city, although it never rains. |
